I’ve learnt so much during the Reverse Diabetes2 Now programme. especially about how we are able to eat differently, yet still loose weight and lower our blood glucose levels. In a short period of time a lot has changed in my life.
My Turkish roots provided a bit of a challenge: in Turkish cuisine we eat a lot of (white) bread, rice and other carbs. I am now much more conscious of the link between what we eat and type 2 diabetes. In the beginning I found it very hard to say no to all the treats that often present itself. But this programme taught me to choose for my health and to change my cooking habits at home.
I now cook without most carbs. And the funny thing is that a lot of my family joined me in this and really like it! From now on we only cook ‘traditional’ Turkish cuisine on special days. I am very thankful to be have been able to join in the Reverse Diabetes2 Now programme, and thank the full team.
